A cosy lakeside experience
Escape to the quiet beauty of North Yorkshire with our adults-only cottages overlooking a private fishing lake. Designed for those seeking peace, privacy, and uninterrupted relaxation, our exclusive lakeside retreat is the perfect destination for couples, solo travellers, and fishing enthusiasts.
Our tranquil lake is fully private and reserved solely for cottage guests. With dedicated fishing areas for each cottage, you’ll enjoy your own secluded spot to cast off, unwind, and take in the stillness of the water. The lake is well-stocked with carp, tench, perch, and roach, making it ideal for anglers of all levels.
No crowds. Just you, the lake, and the peaceful rhythm of nature.
Each cottage apartment is fully furnished; all you need to do is bring food, though there are some delightful places to eat out around the area.
One of the best things about staying in our cottages with fishing in Yorkshire is that the lake is right on your doorstep. Literally — step out of your cottage apartment and you’re at the water’s edge, ready to fish.
Cottage guests have their own purpose-built stone fishing platform directly in front of the apartments, so there’s no need to compete for space or carry tackle across the site. The lake also has 13 well-spaced pegs available to all anglers, with day tickets welcome throughout the season.
What’s in the lake? The water is well-stocked with carp up to 15lb, along with healthy populations of rudd, roach, tench, and bream. Whether you’re a seasoned angler targeting carp or picking up a rod for the first time, there’s something biting.
What works? Sweetcorn and luncheon meat are reliable year-round, especially for the carp and tench. Robin red pellets fish well in warmer months, and pop-ups are worth trying if the carp are being cautious. Mussels are a strong choice for bigger fish, and classic spam still catches as well as it ever did. Bait is not provided, but there are tackle shops in nearby Scarborough.
Lake Rules
We ask all anglers to follow a few simple rules to keep the lake in good condition:
Fishing is included in your cottage stay at no extra charge — no rod fees, no fuss. Just step outside, set up on your own platform, and enjoy the water.
Our cottage apartments overlook the fishing lake, where patrons have exclusive use of a private fishing area.

Please Note:
• During the months of October to April, apartments may be rented at a daily rate of £80 (min 3 night stay).
• Residents may fish from a designated peg at no further charge.
• A deposit of 50% per week is required at time of booking.
• Guests are asked to arrive no earlier than 2pm and depart no later than 10am.
